yaweco - A brand renowned for quality and integrity

The owner, Yasmin Weber, founded Yaweco in the spring of 2014 with the purpose of providing an eco-friendly oral hygiene product range. Yasmin graduated with a degree in business management before getting a job with a manufacturer of dental care products. It was from this job that Yasmin grew her interest in ecological oral care products. When the manufacturer went into insolvency Yasmin could see there was a demand in the market for environmentally friendly oral care products. With her knowledge of the manufacturing process, and the market Yasmin went on to design her own toothbrush with an interchangeable brush head using new and improved materials. yaweco launched.

yaweco has a strong focus on the materials used and how to reduce packaging. Materials such as biobased plastics are used for the interchangeable toothbrush handles and the packaging is made from cardboard. yaweco is always looking for new and improved ways to become more environmentally friendly and with their 10th anniversary approaching, they have plans to introduce a new toothbrush with a changeable brush head for children.

yaweco approaches each challenge with the mindset of positive change. With Bamboo being transported from Asia causing high emissions, yaweco has introduced the Black Forest Line Toothbrush to reduce its carbon emission. Yasmin was born in Dusseldorf and moved to the Black Forest at a young age. It is from the Black Forest that yaweco has sourced its local sustainable hardwood to produce its new toothbrush line. The Black Forest Line is an alternative to bamboo products from Asia and can guarantee fair working conditions, wages, and trade as well as reduce transport carbon emissions. The wooden handle of the brush is made of beechwood and is treated with plant-based wax to protect against moisture, making them more desirable than untreated bamboo which can go mouldy when wet.
