In today's world, in which more and more consumers value ethical and sustainable products, vegan cosmetics is becoming increasingly important. But how can you make sure that the products purchased are not only vegan, but also natural? The answer is in the vegan and natural cosmetics seals.

WHY ARE VEGAN AND NATURAL COSMETICS SEALs IMPORTANT?

Vegans and natural cosmetics seals play a crucial role in conveying trust and helping to make informed decisions. They serve as an independent confirmation that a product is free of animal ingredients, animal experiments and harmful chemicals.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF VEGAN AND NATURAL COSMETICS SEALS

  1. Vegan Society Logo: The Vegan Society Logo is one of the best -known seals for vegan products. It is awarded by Vegan Society, one of the oldest vegan organisations in the world. Products that carry this seal correspond to the strict guidelines of the vegan society and contain no animal ingredients. 

  2. Peta Cruethy-Free Logo: The PETA Cruelty-Free Logo is awarded by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). It identifies products that have not been tested on animals and do not contain any animal ingredients. For many consumers, this seal is an important indicator of ethical practices.

  3. ICEA: provide organic and sustainable certification in Italy. They maintain an extensive list of ingredients not permitted in natural and organic cosmetics. ICEA/AIAB do not require a minimum organic content level and water is not considered in the organic content.

  4. Soda certificate: The soda certificate characterises products as natural cosmetics. It guarantees that the products contain natural and biological ingredients and are free of synthetic fragrance and dyes as well as genetically modified ingredients.

  5. Ecocert: Ecocert is a certification body for nature and biocosmetics. Your seals characterise products that contain a certain percentage of natural and biological ingredients and use environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

  6. Natural Care Product: NCP stands for the environmentally friendly product alternative. Whether toys, household items or detergents the NCP Standard offers a label for articles of everyday use. With the help of this label you ensure that your goods have been produced in a natural and environmentally friendly way

  7. Cosmos Natural: Cosmos Natural is a European certification system for natural and biological cosmetic products. Products with this seal meet strict guidelines in terms of ingredients, manufacturing processes and environmental compatibility.

  8. AIAB: The AIAB (Italian Association of Organic Agriculture) certifies organic products manufactured by Italian companies, in accordance with the association’s standards that include using high quality raw materials with low environmental impact whilst prohibiting the use of chemical pesticides

  9. Natrue: NaTrue is an international organic certification. This certification is awarded to the majority of lavera products. It certifies that products only use natural and organic ingredients and does not allow any animal testing at any stage of production.

  10. Vegan Society: The Vegan logo is a registered trademark and is a symbol of the Vegan ‘Animal-free’ Standards. It appears on animal free products, and is displayed by businesses, that have been registered with The Vegan Society

  11. Vegan OK: The VEGANOK logo is the first, and only, certification for ethical vegan products created in Italy. The entire staff of VEGANOK are vegan and an in depth knowledge of every aspect of vegan choice characterises their work. VEGANOK is an ethical standard with over 1000 companies, services and tens of thousands of products certified around the world, their mission is to defend and respect life in all its form.

  12. Global Organic Textile Standards: GOTS Guarantees that a minimum of 95% of the processed yarn comes from ecological farming and sets a safe and transparent textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria which is backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply.
